Is there any merit to tuning torque settings with a V block chassis?

I've read a ton about it but there doesn't seem to be a consensus. I know tuning is important on a stock that flexes but is there any point in tinkering with torque on a rigid V block chassis? Anyone have data on such tinkering? Anyone have a scientific-ish answer as to why it would or would not matter on a V block? It is hard for me to picture how 50 in/lb vs 65 in/lb could make a difference on one. @padom you have done tons of testing and tinkering, what do you think?
