Is this a legitimate way to your lands?

I have yet to delve into the very precise reloading because I've yet to find a way to measure my lands that feels accurate, but then I stumbled on the below video. Is this a legitimate process? Where could I introduce an error that I need to be aware of?

I use it for both setting up my dies as well as finding the lands. Works for me.
