Or is the lower fine? This is in the magwell. Will the crack get worst or can i use the lower long term without cause for concern? Should i buy a new lower?

Absolutely buy a new lower. How else do the suppliers stay in business. I will take that broken one off your hands.

In all seriousness, I wouldn’t worry about that tiny gouge. Doesn’t look deep at all. Not it a critical area. Don’t sweat it. If it really bothers you, JBWeld is locally available.

True hahaha. I only looked because i accidentally over torqued a buffer tube due to torque wrench failure with a polymer magwell vise block so i inspected for damage. This is what i saw. So was wondering if it was compromised or safe to use still
Torque a buffer tube? Hahahahahaha

I'd not worry about that lower. It's not in a critical spot, and looks like a gouge, not a crack to me.

I recently had an upper receiver blow up while shooting, ammo manufacturer sent me money to replace my gun and ammo. That lower, the magazine well slightly expanded on 1 side but still holds mag. I decided to replace that lower because if anything were to happen like that again I don't want pieces of the lower to break off and end up in my face...
