It just seems like a "too good to be true" package. A steel press, all the small tools, and a tumbler? For less than $150? I've only found one review, and it was ugly. But one review is far from conclusive. Just wanted to see if anyone here has used them or has firsthand experience. Thanks boys!

A few places are selling that kit , the press is cast iron ( steel would be great but no , its not) , the toggle units look identical to the old lee oring press , those break pretty easily , if you can not get replacements i would not buy that press , its only a matter of time befor you break that. I would have to ask why you want this kit , and what your intentions are. If your looking for hi-volumne , or accurate ammo , i'd look elsewhere. But if you just want to make some "fun" loads , a few subsonics , or something like that , or loading a few rounds for an obsolete caliber sure. It just depends on why you want the kit.

We're starting over at bare dirt with our reloading. I've never done precision rifle loading, and the husband wants to start me on a single stage press. Back to basics for us both I guess is the main point.

That kit was just so well stocked. We were looking at the Lee kit, but saw this and it comes with a tumbler for just a few bucks more.

I think we'll just go the Lee route instead of taking a chance. Eventually we'll get a pimpin' Dillon setup like the FIL has. But money is an object, so baby steps for now.

IF you are a true blooded American you will not use Chinese made shit for reloading...

Is there not something we can keep here in the states that is as American as Apple Pie?

Spend a few more bucks and get quality, or spend the same and start with a bit less.

Skip it. I work for a wholesaler who has this stuff and we get lots of returns, mostly on the electronic stuff.

If you don't want to drop the money on a rock chucker, look at the Lee Classic Cast press. It's a beast that works quite well.

Re: Is this crap or decent entry level: OMEGA 800 PRO

I have a Lee press that I bought for a single purpose, I needed something to push the shoulder back on a couple hundred Rem 300 ultra mags. to the length I needed for a case that I was experimenting with. I am through with it and you are welcome to it if you can use it. I do not know if it is a classic press as mentioned in a previous post or not, as I load with an arbor press and havnt used a threaded die press in years. If you would like it send me a P.M. with your address and I will mail it to you as soon as I find a box large enough to mail it in.
It is one of the less expensive ones.

the guys are right, with reloading gear, its best to buy the good stuff the first time around. It lasts forever. I am still loading on a Rockchucker my dad bought when I was 5 yrs old. Still looks brand new...though I dont. :)

RCBS has a complete kit for less than $300.00
good quality equipment, maybe not the best but works great & you cant break it, made in USA,..quality is priceless, if you have to replaced a broken less exspence press, then its no longer less exspensive, I learned the hard way bought a cheap kit & ended up replacing it peice by peice at a much higher cost than a decent kit 1st time around, cry loud once they say
