Is this thing Pug Ugly or what!??

Its a Chiappa Rhino 357. Fires from the 6 o'clock cylinder instead of the 12 o'clock.

Been intrigued by it since I read a write up. Finally got my hands on one and its REALLY comfortable. Cant wait to shoot it. I bet recoil management is great. We'll see...

Did you sieze that on a warrant or what? I wouldnt have told anyone I bought that ugly thing. New Leg Gun? I will be back from New Zealand in a week or so for the shirt order.

I was expecting to see something made by Hi-Point. That Rhino is pretty cool, I like when artists and engineers do things for no other reason than "Because we can". Let us know how it functions.

As fugly as the snubbie is...I gotta say the full size is just....welll.....rediculous.


Top AND bottom rails. A vent Rib and what appears to be a 2x4 for a grip!

The only thing I think about when I see these is what would happen in off chance of a "Kaboom"?

I have seen several pics of revolvers with the top of the cylinder blown out the the top strap mangled or broke.

With one of these, it's coming out the bottom.

I would hate to see the results of that. Hopefully that will never happen to anyone.

I have not shot one of these yet but the grip is quite comfortable. A dealer I sell go shot both the 4" and the 2" at Shot Show and was quite impressed with the control. The lower barrel really helped to tame the muzzle flip.

Price is the biggest issue with most people I've talked to. Just hard to justify the additional cost.

It's unlikely given the thickness of the metal as compared to the thinness of the average top strap.

The major complaint I've heard about these is the trigger is very heavy and not smooth. Perhaps that has been worked out? I've seen vids of these being rapid fired and the muzzle flip is barely there.

That must have been worked out because mine is smooth and lighter than the normal DA revolver trigger.

Yeah, the little guy is kind of bufuggly, but the full size would be a real work of art with a redesigned grip! I can't tell if they used a 2x4 or a chair leg for the grip that is on the one pictured above

But, that Top AND Bottom rail combined with the Vent Rib and nice looking metal work make for a truely awesome and eye catching package!!!

Agree The grip needs work i thing they used the 2x4.

That's good news. An easily concealed .357M is a formidable self-defense round. Might have to see if there's a local dealer to check one out myself.

OK, shot the Rhino today. Gotta say, it just got prettier!

First 6 rds I was thinking 'Man, not much muzzle flip, but the recoil is still pretty sharp with these 38 Spl's. Wonder what the 357 Mags are gonna be like!??'

Well, I mistakenly loaded 357's, not 38 Spl.

Loaded with the 38's and its like shooting a pop gun! You can zip 6 rds in on a guy as fast as you can pull the trigger. Reasonably accurate for a short-a$$ barrel.

Over all, I'm Diggin it!!

I think I just may have found my wife's first CCW firearm.

How would you rate it as a CCW? Is the hexagonal cylinder any better for concealment?

The hex cylinder does cut down on the profile a bit. The holster it comes with holds it pretty flat too.

Overall I'd rate it pretty high for CCW especially with the other benefits.

I'd like to see an IWB holster and I might see if someone can make me a Kydex one too.
