Im moving to JAX area shortly.
15 years with easy access to Hillside Range (Roanoke IN) 15 minutes from my current home and occasional 2000 yards at Camp Atterbury IN.
338 Lapua Magnum and 308 are my Long range rifles.
Any information on public or private ranges ?

I don't know about the ranges, but there is a store in JAX called 'shooters' that has some good equipment for sale.
they are putting in a mile in Lake Bulter Fl. about 45 mins from Jax's. I shoot there.

You only have a few choices. You got the Shadds range mentioned above that I've never seen.
You also have Bradford over in Starke for around 850 yards (https://bsfshootingsports.com/). Nice all around place with good sporting clays too. Wish it was closer to my side of JAX.
There is Saltwater down by the St Augustine airport with 750+ yards (http://www.saltwatersshootingclub.com/). I believe this is only available on Mondays by apt. Never shot there as I can't and won't do Mondays.
There is the private range down in Palatka I'd join if it was closer ( http://www.ascotshootingclub.com/).
Then there is the new range at Volusia at around 900-100 yards (https://www.volusiacountygunclub.com/long-range/). Hope to try this out soon. There is a 2K+ ELR rented range across the street from it that is occasionally organized (https://www.facebook.com/Volusia-Long-Range-Shooting-196744950396339/).
Is there anything that says you can’t use an RC boat to tow a target out into the ocean as far as you can see?
go though Lake Butler heading west about two or three miles your seen a large steel gate on the left with Shadd on it, keep going next gate on the left is where you want to be. open this Friday and Saturday ask for Eric
