Jewel trigger problem

Today i went out to practice some positional shooting. While doing so i shot a 3 or 4 round string then went to squeeze the trigger and the gun was on safety. I didn't remember putting the safety on. No big deal, clicked the safety off and when i did that the firing pin was sent home to the primer.... Could of been bad if i wasn't pointed at my berm when i clicked it off. Is my jewel trigger a paper weight now or does it need a real good spraying with lighter fluid? I continued to shoot after that and didn't have any problems for the rest of the session. Any ideas what it is?

I'm not sure, but watch this video starting at about 3:00. Check your sear adjustment screw as shown. That might have something to do with it. Again, I'm not sure...

I have 1K rounds on this trigger and this is the first of problems it has given me. I think it just needs a clean and the sear wasnt resetting

I'm no expert, but the guy in the video's version of "supertuning" the Jewell trigger appears to be maximum overtravel. That's absurd. There's a medium range that should work just fine, even in field conditions.

Have you adjusted it? Sounds like a sear problem, I think it needs more than a cleaning.

The trigger could be binding in the stock or bottom metal. It's not at all uncommon to have to make a larger relief in your stock or bottom metal when fitting a jewel.
