Hi all!
I'm primarily a Steel Challenge rifle shooter where I compete on the Pace Setting Design shooting team and assist with matches at the historic Piru Steel Challenge range. I currently have three Grandmaster classifications in the Steel Challenge Shooting Association (A55324) and plan to add one or two more GM classes in the future. Rifle-wise, I intend to expand into Precision Rifle Series type competitions, which brings me here to SnipersHide.
I'm currently building my long-range equipment kit and learning the ropes of PRS events. As I build my equipment, I'm brushing up on my ability to negotiate wind at range and firing from uncomfortable positions. Because both PRS and SC are built around the same basic concept--shoot steel as fast as possible--right now I'm planning to take a similar strategic approach to PRS as I do SC, which is strongly centered in visual techniques and confidence earned from practice, practice, practice: I will visually find the target as fast as possible, get the sights on target, release the bullet the moment the sights are on target, VISUALLY CALL THE SHOT AT RELEASE, and immediately transition to the next target. Let's see how it plays out in the long run, but that's my plan.
Off the range, I've been honored as a "Member of the Month" at the Brian Enos Forums, and I hope to continue that level of service here, though I'll likely listen more than speak for awhile. If any folks have questions about Steel Challenge, please feel free to reach out to me. If anybody has questions about Pace Setting Designs and its products, please contact me as well. Lastly, I'm a Fenix Flashlights ambassador and will be happy to assist with questions regarding their products. Professionally, I was a high school English teacher for 10 years, and am now in my 13th year as a vice principal.
Thanks for having me,
John
