They all do no matter the color.

Re: JP adjustable gas block

I have them on three of my builds...builds all based on JP uppers. Being able to regulate the gas coupled with the low mass operating system makes for a truly low recoil impulse for fast follow up shots or double taps.

I do not use any Loctite on mine....no problem.

Take care,Stan

Re: JP adjustable gas block

They are especially nice on AR-10 platform rifles. Adjusting the gas really helps control that big bolt from slamming around so much.

I have them on AR-15 platform rifles but open them all the way up and loctite the screw. I've been bitten a few times in matches with them getting out of adjustment, closing off the gas too much and stopping the rifle from running (just my experience)

John is right, color of loctite doesn't really matter, they all will break down with the heat generated from medium to high volume firing.

Re: JP adjustable gas block

Determine the number of turns you are set for and write it in your logbook so that when you reapply loctite when it breaksdown you are back to adjustment quickly (also good if it backs out during a match)

Re: JP adjustable gas block

I put a wrap of teflon tape on my set screw. I haven't touched it since. IIRC, regular teflon tape that you can get anywhere is good for up to 600 degrees.

Re: JP adjustable gas block

my JP adj block is a lifesaver on my R-15 for suppressed hunting...gives prairie dogs and woodchucks hell all day. I started off using no loctite and it moved on me eventually, so I used blue and reapply it every few hunts, counting the number of turns to my position as branson said. that held up great.
