Can anyone tell me which variant of the JP SCS I would need for a 24” rifle length Grendel with PRS stock? I do not have an adjustable gas block. Just wandering if I need the standard or heavier H2. Thanks
I'm not running a Gen 1 in my 20" Grendel. I have a Gen 2 and it's set in a standard configuration (weight, three stainless weights no tungsten). When I had a PRS on it, all that was needed is the spacer that's included to work with the rifle length buffer tube. I have an XLR stock on it now, so it's a carbine length tube. No spacer or changes were needed. I don't use an adjustable gas block on my Grendel, just a standard Vltor non-adjustable.
Just follow the Flow Chart, and adjust springs if needed.
I run the JP SCS in both my Grendels, 24" & 18" both in the Standard Configuration (BLK Spring) and have no issues. Once you get two or three JP SCS it makes life so much easier. Once I complete a build i bring 3 SCS with me to the range during break in, Standard, H2, and +1 Tungsten, shoot a 5x5 with each, and let the Rifle and Target tell me what it likes.
This is especially easy if you get your barrels from the same Smith with the same Chamber, I know every Krieger barrel i get from CL with the CLE Match Chamber 1-7.7, will always shoot Blk hills 77gr .223 around .5 MOA then I just fine tune the springs, and AGB if need be.
