This is what folks don’t realize about jury duty. You are being cross-examined under oath as a matter of public record. Anything you say can be used against you.
If there is something in your past that you don’t want to discuss publicly, too bad. If you are asked about these things and lie, you can later be charged with a felony.

The thing that is bizarre about this Judge is that he of all people should have understood this. Makes one wonder if he was dealing with some sort of mental health issue.
I mean, if anybody should know how to get out of jury duty without incriminating themselves, it should be a judge.
