Im looking to get some badger ordnance rings but i cant decide what height i need. Ive got a rem 700 with a manners t2. swfa 10x 42mm and a badger one piece base. im thinking i need the standards(.823), but maybe mediums(.885)?
.823's are more than high enough to clear the barrel. I wouldn't go any lower though because the bolt handle is pretty damn close to the ocular on SS's with that set up.
.823's will still clear the badger knob. It's the middle of the flat part of the knob that gets close to the ocular if that makes any sense. I wouldn't go with mediums, you won't gain anything and you'll sacrifice cheek weld as well as put you're scope that much higher than the bore.
