Just finished my Mark13 Mod3 Clone

Just finished up My new rifle and i thought I'd share some pics with you guys.

its more of a Mark13 inspired clone as opposed to a 100% copy.

Remington Long Action
AICS 1.5 (i did'nt see the need for a folder on a rifle this long)
Kreiger barrel .300WM
Crane 1 Piece Bolt
Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56
NF rings
Badger mount
Badger FTE Brake

John Baier of John Baier tactical stocks Assembled the rifle for me. including chambering,blueprinting etc...

I had tossed around the idea of having the barrel profiled correctly for the Knights Can but i ultimately decided against it due to the fact that im in California and it would serve no purpose to me. so i went the the FTE.

I had just got done leveling and torquing the scope when i snapped the pic's

The Crane bolt originates here

I got one of the rare over-runs (2 existed as I was told) as a pre-civilian release review.

They're very nice bolts.

Thanks for the info on the bolt that is pretty cool. i was told it was procured from Crane. i assumed it was for the mark13. didint know PTG was the one making them.those bolts really are one solid looking unit.

It might have been pulled from somewhere that Crane was involved but that seems rather unlikely to me since these were sent to them less than 8 months ago. They're available to the consumer market now per PTG's website. I'm waiting for Dave to make southpaw versions.

Just heard from the man who built it. It was one of the first batch overrun units . He was informed about it from a guy ay crane. That s where I got confused

the ones from the gov't dont come with a painted barrel.

in all seriousness though im prob. gonna just rattle can the barrel. im not too concerned about it though, the stainless looks cool.

Range report,

after about 15 rnds to sight the rifle in i was able to hold .75 moa at 100 yds. off of a bipod and a rather rickety shooting bench the local range supplied.

I like that rifle a lot leave the barrel just the way it is. Great set up oh and nice scope too!
