I finally got some time over this past weekend to paint my rifle in a new color scheme and I wanted to show it off a bit. Prior to this just about every rifle I had was in a tan and black color scheme and I was beginning to thinkg that it was a little over done. I'd seen a couple of rifles here and in person that had a FDE/OD color scheme and thought it looked pretty good. After a quick order to Lauer Custom Weaponry and a trip or two to Lowes I had everything that I needed for the project. Before any of that though I gave the forend and grip area a more aggressive texturing using the directions from R&D Precision's website and some Marine-Tex that I had left over. I've used Randy's directions in the past and have found them to be very helpful, the stock texturing turned out just how I wanted. I couldn't be happier with project and it's probably the best paint job I've done to date.

Looks good Monkey, real professional looking. You need to invest in a small air compressor, HVLP Spray Gun and the trimmings. You'll put it to good use even if you only paint your guns and or friends guns.

Thanks for the compliments William. I had thought about getting a compressor and spray gun set up but I don't think I'll paint enough to justify the expense when I can just get replacement power units.
