Some of you may not know the story behind my scope so Im going to post it again for you guys to see how awesome USO is!

Its CS like this that makes me wish I was rich enough to put a USO on every rifle I own. I just had to share.

So I was lucky enough to acquire a brand new SN-3 from a hide member a couple of days ago, and the scope was just what I wanted except it was MOA/MOA and I really wanted Mil/Mil. So I sent JBW III a pm asking him how much it would cost to change the current 1/4 moa EREK , 1/4 moa wind. and PCMOA reticle to .1mil EREK, .1mil M40 wind. and Mil-GAP reticle.

This is the pm I got back from him

Unfortunately changing out knobs is something that isn't too easy. The knobs are secured into the body with red Loctite, and when we try to remove them we usually destroy the body.

What we might be able to do is trade out the scope for a new one if it is in perfect condition. Can you send me the serial number so I know exactly what is on the scope?
Thanks,
John III </div></div>

Now I knew I was getting a first rate scope from a first rate company, but this is ridiculous! Customer service this good?

Let me say that JBW III has not seen my scope, nor has accepted the trade yet, but just the fact that he offered such a thing blows my mind. I didn't think it was possible for USO to go up anymore notches in my book, but JBW III proved me wrong.

USO has won a customer for life! What other optics company would offer something like that? S&B? NF?

Anyway, I just had to share so others that are in need of a scope will see how USO treats their customers, and hopefully helps them make the right decision on their next scope.

The specs on the scope I have now are

SN-3 3.8-22x58mm
35mm Tube
EREK 1/4 moa
US#3 1/4 moa windage
PCMOA Reticle
Illuminated Green Rheostat
Sunshade & ARD

Well I was able to make it out to USO to pick up my new scope today, and just like John promised, he traded the moa/moa scope for the mil/mil I wanted, FOR FREE!

I got to meet Arnold who was nice enough to mount and boresight the scope for me, he also set up the EREK as a zero stop, and then he gave me a tour of the shop explaining everything in sight, what a great guy! You could tell that they were busy as hell, yet Arnold took the time to shoot the shit with me and not rush me out of there. He also gave me a pair of USO flip up caps at the end as a gift! I can not think of a better company to support, and Im not just saying that!

And before you guys ask, yes I did see one of the girls there, not sure which one (might have been Becky) didnt ask.

As for the scope, I love this thing, I got to play with it a bit and wow, the clicks are tactile and audible, no dark edges even at max mag, and I love the mil-gap ret! great scope!

now to the pics (rifle is a APA 7WSM)

Re: Just got back from USO with my new scope!

That's a great looking rig and quite a story. I've considered USO before just for the features but CS like that is not just icing on the cake. It's a whole 'nuther cake. Along with Vortex, these guys just seem to get it.

I recently had an experience with a firearms-related vendor that just left me shaking my head. He eventually refunded half my money, which was not what I wanted. I just asked that he live up to his word and send the item I ordered in a timely way...to the right address. He could have given me a 100% refund and I'll still never go back.

Re: Just got back from USO with my new scope!

What a great story! I pretty much have my mind made up that I'm putting USO optics on every rifle I own (at least every rifle I own that needs a quality scope)! How can you NOT love a company which treats it's customers with such generosity and concern?? And the reputation of the optics itself!!! Yup, I'm sold! And without even so much as viewing one in person!

btw, did you happen to see any brown anodized scopes there? I'm curious what they look like

Re: Just got back from USO with my new scope!

They make some great optics with some really innovative designs.

Happy to see you finally got it. Its raining up here, and I don't know what the weathers like down there, but I'll bet its not much different. You will have to post some range results when you get a chance.

Re: Just got back from USO with my new scope!

Hi Ben,

Nice and sunny here, but 40% chance of rain on Sat. Past the freeway to your location on Sunday when we were driving back, but the trip had worn me out, I will have to buy you that beer the next time.

Joe,

Thanks for sharing this great story, and every little bit is true. I had the pleasure to meet with the folks there last week, (thanks to Cpl Snafu) and the situation was the same. You can tell they are all very busy trying to put their quality product to every customer asap, but still took the time to talk to us.

Great customer service, and once you get to talk to them, they really are treating you like friends more than just a customer.

Re: Just got back from USO with my new scope!

Don't mean to hijack the thread Joe,

Just want to share another story here. Ben, hope you don't mind, I thought about it for a while, and have to do this.

When brand692 read about that I sold my NF and waiting for new scope being built, he offered me to borrow his USO scope for the time being. Not saying all of you can ask him for that favor
wink.gif
, just want to share this with yall that SH is such a close community with great folks like brand692 and many others, the list is too long to mention here, who are willing to help others in the community.

I will make sure I do my part to continue this tradition.

Dyl..

REM700MAN- Thatd the couch in my mancave, a few tares should give it some character

Longshot38- thats about the only thing I like about living in Nazzi Kalifornia, I fucking hate this state!

DP425- You cant go wrong with a USO, you couldnt give your money to a better company. And sorry but I didnt see any brown scopes, maybe they had one in the display case but I was too busy drooling over my scope at the moment to take a good look.

Brand692- nice and sunny here "for now" Ill post a range report as soon as I get a chance to hit the range.

Target In Sight- Hijack away, I never mind hearing great things about members/vendors.

Re: Just got back from USO with my new scope!

USMCj-I have the exact same story, if you substitute ST10 in place of yours.

Well, actually John charged me $100 since I had use the scope for a year and it had a couple dings in the anodizing

That's a beautiful scope, and pretty much what I had in mind when I swapped for the one I have.

Great CS, period. Maybe they'll trade a prototype TPal for an ERGO......trying not to push my luck

You're not mistaken, I was just having a brain fart and mentally comparing it to my TPal, carry on!

Re: Just got back from USO with my new scope!

man if I would have known this I would have bought that crazy priced one yesterday for $1350 and traded it in towards a moa/moa to match my other t-pal damn the bad luck, oh well at least I have 1 on their wonderful optics.

Re: Just got back from USO with my new scope!

Right the F on Joe, that's really good to hear. Nice looking combo btw.....LOL whats the under/over bet on how long the scope will stay black?

Re: Just got back from USO with my new scope!

Now that is truly real CS that I have yet seen from any company. I have to say I am seriously considering a USO over a Nightforce, not that nightforce is bad but at least I know after dropping some serious dough on glass I will have some support.

Re: Just got back from USO with my new scope!

diggler44- ita not a USO policy to trade scopes, please dond call them expecting the same results, John was just nice enough to tade it for me since the scope I gave him was never mounted, and showed no signs of use at all.

Pat - thanks, and Im not sure about painting the scope yet, but I do have a extra can of Alumahyde II just in case I get the urge
wink.gif

Scott - you wont be sorry! Once you get bit by USO's awesome customer service, there is no going back
laugh.gif

JRose - thanks, seems like they do them in batches, I heard from a few other friends that their scope was on the way also.

If I knew they were going to do another run of MST-100s in a couple years, I'd start today.
