After 8 month wait my harvester came in, haven’t had a chance to take it out yet... planning on running cole tac cover... anything else I should know outside of the basics

Use anti seize on the changeable end cap. Take it off often. If you don’t it gets stuck and you gotta send it in. Ask me how I know.

that’s great.. I never would have thought of that!.. I’m glad I ask these questions
Check out one of our covers. Send it back if you don’t think it’s the best out there. After 8 month wait my harvester came in, haven’t had a chance to take it out yet... planning on running cole tac cover... anything else I should know outside of the basics

We make them all to order. Typical turnaround is 24-48 hours. They are $109 for standard size. This cover slides on and kevlar cord cinches behind the barrel in 10 seconds.Do you have 8” and how much $

The part that attaches the thread adapter isHarvester endcaps are not removable
Other end cap bud.
I do it because my .243 AR barrel is threaded 1/2x28Maybe it's because I'm running keymo, but I have no idea why you would want to remove your mount insert once it's installed if that's what you guys are referring too.

Keep it clean before it gets too heavy. Since its aluminum and stainless you can't use any CLR, or "the dip", or regular simple green. I have found that the Berrymans Chemdip woks decent enough.
I bought mine used and the buildup was pretty bad. It functions fine but it's about 5 ounces heavier than new.
Correct, I direct thread everything. So are you swapping direct thread mounts then I take it?
How long did you leave it in the CLR? I've been afraid to try it because it hurts aluminum.

So do you just drop the whole thing in a container of CLR or do you somehow plug the end and fill it up?2 DAYS
Well that’s the best news I’ve had all day! ThanksI have a cover on mine and I've had no issues. Mirage gets pretty bad if you don't run one.

mine is for some reason.
Well I can’t say I ever seen or heard of that ... I better check mine out... not sure if that’s good or notmine is for some reason.
I have one and the brake end is threaded too.Lol unless they changed the design the original ones I thought were glued on haha might wanna check on that
Is yours a 30 or a big bore 338? I know for a fact the big bores is not supposed to be. I live near silencerco and have been over there many a time to beg them to give me a flat end cap while I am swapping parts or having shit fixed lol.I don’t think it supposed to, but it has been like that since new.

Mine looks to be glued or has some sort of sealer on that side, yours might be the one that slipped bymine is a 300, not the big bore. It’s not supposed to, but for some reason it does. It has never come loose shooting, but can be unscrewed by hand.
I have had a Harvester for a couple of years but never used a cover as the dealer told me not to given the aluminum body construction and need to cool down between shot strings. Did they give me bad advice? If not, don’t want someone else to ruin a nice can.

Great info thanks!!I’ll do a quick dispell of your typical harvester info. The core is fully welded stainless the aluminum is simply a sleeve giving it a nice round suppressor body and keeping the weight down. I have approximately 5000rds through mine and much of it has been in match environment with hot 10-12rd strings of fire. This can has ran perfect and really gets no hotter than any titanium can I have. Maybe even less. Run a cover on it. Slide it back and let it cool between strings like any other can.
lots of people talk about not cleaning centerfire cans or not needing to. Even some mfg. that is simply bullshit. Carbon builds up. The longer it builds the worse it gets. clean it.
lastly clr can harm aluminum but raw aluminum. The anodizing on the can protects the alum. I’ve cleaned mine a couple times with 48hr submerged soaks without any issue. No color change etc. giant globs of carbon pouring out though. That is for sure.
