Rifle Scopes Just ordered a scope ring lapping kit in 30mm

A buddy has one but it was for 1 inch. So, I ordered the 30mm kit. It shipped this afternoon. Hope it gets here quickly.

I should be able to mount the scope as soon as it gets here.

Savage 10 PC in .308
EGW 20MOA base
Burris XTR rings
Nightforce 3.5-15x50 NP-R1 with zero stop

Can't wait to get it set up and out to the range.

I got one that has both 1 inch and 30mm lapping bar plus the alingment guides also, ordered it thru sinclair, cant believe how much of the rings dont touch until you do it once then they make you a believer

My buddy has the levels. So, I didn't have to order them. I bought the Wheeler kit.

I dont use levels on mine I use the feeler gage system, I do abunch of dialing in when shooting so I need the erector system straighter then the reticle, the alignment rods just check how the rings align to each other, anyway it is amazing after using it, had a buddy at work tell me once I use it then I will never mount a scope again without lapping the rings and now I agree

Here is a fine example of the importance of lapping rings.

These are high quality Al. rings that required allot of lapping to get the engagement I felt needed for a 7SWM.
Kinda surprised me.
Kinda glad they were not steel rings. I would be here for another three days or so.
