Does anyone know of a gunsmith that has/will produce a barrel with the gas port drilled in the position that Knight Armament uses for their carbine length gas system? I believe it is around 10.5 inches.
I just had one through my shop recently for gas port work after another smith shortened the barrel to 15"...
The KAC "intermediate" length gas system is exactly 2" shorter than a standard rifle gas system.
That puts it at 10.125" from the rear of the gas block seat to the face of the barrel extension where it tightens against the barrel.
