does anyone use the multi zero scope by kahles and swarovski. there may be other manufactors but thoses are the 2 i know of. they seam like a great idea

While I am a big fan of Swarovski in general, I am not so sure about the Multizero idea.
IIRC correctly on the Swaro version, it allows you to set up 5 different color coded zeros...That might be fine for a hunter out to medium distances, say 500m, but if you try to extended the range further, you'll be left with too bigger gaps between zero postions.
Personally, for medium and long range shooting I'd go with a scope with convential turrets and learn to dial in the adjustments. Get a scope with a single turn turret and a zero stop and its fairly fool proof...

im looking at this on a 243 coyote/pronghorn rifle with a max range of 600yds. i never dial a hunting scope because the animal wont stand there forever. i usually get a mil recticle and sight in the gun at x range. then find out exactly what range each mil is good at. but i thought this might be a quick option

I bought an A-Line 6-18 with the Ballistic turret. I bought it for a 223 that will be used for short range ground hog hunting. Out to 400 yards. With the limited use I have had so far it works perfectly for what I wanted it for. It has tracked perfectly. If you are the normal hunter who hunts at normal ranges then the turret will work just fine. It is not meant to be a dialing system for long range shooters. But it is designed perfectly for the average hunter. And very few average hunters shoot farther than 400 or 500 yards. Very few hunters-period-shoot past 500 yards. Or should I say hunt past 500 yards?? Tom.

i have a kahles with a tds syle recticle that i like. i would not trust the wind holds. imo the only thing that will work for wind holds is pratice with the gun. but the tds is somthing i could use the same as my mils. i should probably just stick with the mils the ballistic turrent was somthing im just considering trying

I opted away from the 'multi zero' option on my Kahles. For the application I bought the scope for, dialing elevation is not a priority. So I kept it 'simple' with the standard adjustments having less moving parts to potentially fail in the field...

i like the swarovski "ballistic turret". it's pretty fool proof with the ballistic calculator on swarovski's website. the only problem you can run into is there isn't a provision for cross wind and you might run out of adjustment at extreme ranges.
i don't recommend those CDS or ballistic reticle of any kind, if you switch the barrel out or change your load slightly, you have to buy another.

you mentioned the ballistic calculator on swarovskis web site. i was under the impression that you could actually sight in the gun at diffrent ranges. am i wrong? if i would have to trust a ballistic calculator i defintally do not want one. i may be the lone wolf on this but i cant bring myself to trust those things completly. i think they are great for giving you a idea of what your drop and wind will be but not exactly what it is in your gun

Been that route with the multizero and the TDS, and have always come back to dialing. Bottom line nothing really substitutes for dialing and understanding your reticle. To add, I missed a monster whitetail this past season which I had hunted for over three years. I have to blame it on the TDS ofcourse it wasn't me dang diddly.
