Fellow Kahles optics owners, I am needing to line out the remainder of my precision rifles with optics. Ever since I got my 624i with the AMR, I have really liked the Kahles. I do like the AMR reticle, though I have to admit, I am not the biggest fan of how thick the first series of .2 mil hashes surrounding the crosshair are. As I was shooting it this past weekend, I started becoming curious with the SKMR 3 reticle. Unfortunately, there is not anyone I know who owns one and thus I am stuck looking at Google's shitty images. When I look at the SKMR 3 I cannot help but think that the lines which comprise the "Christmas tree" type design would be more of a hindrance than a help. Essentially, I question whether or not those lines cover up much of your sight picture and/or your target, particularly when you are using the reticle for holdovers?
Any of you folks with experience on these reticles with any input would be greatly appreciated. To be quite honest, I wish I could take the center crosshair of the SKMR 3 (basically an open dot) and put it on the AMR's Christmas tree, but I'm just a lowly shooter, don't know much about reticle design, accept for what I like.
Purpose of rifles are for competing and general target shooting.
Thoughts?
Thanks.
