I am thinking of buying a 3x9 scope from them, http://www.kalinkaoptics.com/rifle-scope...ak-version.html
or maybe the 2-6 version, not sure just yet. But has anyone bought one of these? Do they hold up? How is the warranty if there is even one?

There is no phone number for Kalinka, and that scares me a bit.

BTW, this is going on a arsenal ak. And I am just going to shoot paper or empty water jugs, no 3 gun competitions or anything.

Re: Kalinka optics

Read about Kalinka on a few of the AK forums. Nothing horrible but I got the feeling they are a bit on the slow side in regards to order processing and contacting via email. Again nothing negative as far as screwing people over just know they are not operating at the same tempo as say Midway.

As for the optic I have not looked at that exact model but have looked through the SVD POSP and they are typical of what you would expect...crude and built like tanks. Glass isnt great compared to US standards but its certainly better than some of the lower end gun show or walmart crap scopes out there.

With most things comblock the selling feature is durability not luxury so as long as thats what you are looking for you should not be dissapointed.

One thing to note and I donno how important it may be to you but this is the issued scope http://www.kalinkaoptics.com/rifle-scope...ak-version.html the link you have is from same mfg but not an in service item. Same power range if it were me I would go with the one their military choose as I would assume it was ran through the wringer and conforms to some set of standards. Then again it looks like its about a hundred more so maybe its not worth it to you.

Re: Kalinka optics

Steer clear from variable power POSP scopes made by Belomo (Belarus) as i've had nothing but trouble with 2-5x24 version. At least good news is it can be used as a hammer or as a general bang something up thingy it's certainly not an optic instrument (and all that after official return and repair

).

ps: What really happened is that diopter setting and power knob have enough play in it to distort the picture (moves quite a bit around all axes and it gives an illusion of reticle moving (like really awful parallax)). The actual mechanics are ok so i guess in fixed mag and diopter-less version it would be OK.
