    .308 build. Shooting 175 grain. Consensus is 1-9 is too fast for this. Barrel is stainless. Would like Heavy Palma 26-30” with minimum 1-10 twist.
     
    Too fast is generally if it compromises the bullet integrity. 1:9 vs 1:10 is not that big of a difference. It would be like saying a 1:10 is too fast for 150 gr bullet. I don’t see it.

    308’s run 1:10 to 1:14 twist. That’s a big range. 1:10 will turn up over near 200 grain bullets. I have shot 212 gr out of mine messing around.

    I really believe the 1:9 is fine.
