I kind of like this shut down thing. Can we shut down more of it?

Stalled other renewals as well.I’m all for it but it is effecting all of my nfa crap from being processed which pisses me off. Other than that, keep her closed. I don’t care. They all seem pretty insignificant to me!
LolTaxes better be prorated
Lol
Only thing that will be adjusted is if we owe taxes and this goes past 4/15. They will fine us.
Pelosi trying to play Supreme ruler of the US. Blaming everyone but herself. It's obviously a dysfunctional government let's scrap it and start over.
What this really is, is a case of Dereliction of Duty, on the part of our congress-critters.
It is their constitutional duty to put forth a working budget, and they will not.
The low level govt employees should not be the ones to feel the pain.
Our dear Reps and Senators should each be fined $50,000 per day, for dereliction of duty, for each day the govt is un-funded.
They would have it sorted out right quick.

Except here shortly, within the next month or less, Border Patrol Agents and Customs and Border Protection Officers will have to stop going to work so they can either work or find another job to pay bills until the government re-opens.
So, the border will become exponentially less secure in the coming weeks. Ironically, the border that is the center of the shutdown.
I’m all for border security and such, but you’re going to have to come up with paychecks pretty soon.
Signed - a Border Patrol Agent
so illegals might make it across the border then?

Hi,
Well IF they leave their jobs to find other jobs then they damn sure should not be able to walk back onto the job once the Government re-opens.
Each and every .gov employee initialed and signed their employment documents stating whether they are considered essential or non-essential in times just as these.
They also initialed and signed stating they acknowledge that in times as these that they would not be paid as scheduled but would receive full back pay.
If any of them leave for another job then that is considered resignation so hope the new job is a permanent one because you do not get to reap the benefits of .gov job only when it benefits you.

Can’t catch them all. Imagine if as many make it as they already do.........without anyone attempting to stop them.
Everyone you’d slow down/stop with a wall will already have made it, while we argue about building it.
Hi,
Well being I am part of the "They"......"They" should not have taken their entire checks for granted from the very first one until the last one since shutdown. Its called savings....The Government left it up to each individual to save for this exact situation, not only that....Federal HR departments have departments within it to help with finances and savings.
Each .gov employee that does not show up to work (If they were hired on and signed off as being essential) should be terminated for abandonment of post.
Each .gov employee that finds another job should do so knowing they just voluntarily resigned from their .gov post.
In short..my proposal to pay your individual bills...you are accountable for your own savings....because the Government has left that up to you; if they attempted to control that it would be considered communism.
Sincerely,
Theis
If we would do like we did with coyotes in Texas we wouldn't need as much border security.
When you drop one hang it on the fence to rot, makes a pretty good detergent.
Or just fix our fucked up immigration system and do a country wide roundup of illegals and a mass deportation.
Agreed. But that doesn’t solve the issue of what’s going on today.
And yes it is “they,” as I’m single with no kids. Doesn’t affect me too much.
But there are quite a few who are not in this category.
TSA workers make 30-40k/year.
Guess they should have “savings” with all that cash left over each month.
Hi,
Hold on...Had to go back cause you edited your post.
Are you saying you did not sign a document stating whether you were considered essential or non-essential?
Are you saying your employment documents does not have section of Government shutdown stipulations in it?
Sincerely,
Theis
Many government employees are filing for and receiving unemployment. And they will receive full back pay. As a former airline employee who was subject to the railway labor act and the corrupt politicians on the national labor relations board (appointed by Presidents) I have no sympathy for federal employees in this situation. They should tell Pelosi and Chuck to negotiate and settle with Trump
Hi,
Well being they were hired last month..they would still be under their probationary period so the .gov could let them go without having to pay back pay once Congress approves funding.
For someone that has been a .gov employee for years they should have taken the TSP briefings a little more serious huh?
My job is not to handle other peoples finances!! They are free to find another job, just as I am.
Sincerely,
Theis
Hi,
And the hopefully coming soon RIF trumps that OPM memo
Get rid of so much waste...

Hi,
My paperwork argument is still solid on my end. I completely understand the Congressional provisions that control MY employment contract
I not bitching about who is or is not needing to go get a job. My stance remains...Go get another job then.
Sincerely,
Theis
Your argument was that .gov employees should be terminated based on their agreement with the gov’t. Which is fairly true, depending on their individual paperwork.
The gov’t has passed a law that enables employees to not come to work for any approved reason. Financial hardships are already approved. Outside employment is already approved as long as the correct form is filled out.
So, where is the basis for termination you spoke of?
Hi,
Answer to line 3 is line 1 itself!!
Sincerely,
Theis
