Keltec RFB

Re: Keltec RFB

FN has a couple, the FS2000 and the PS90, those two are 100% ambidextrous bullpup, that I know of. I have the PS90 and a good buddy has the FS2000, great rifles.
hope this helps.

Re: Keltec RFB

Not the cheapest option, but I love my Steyr AUG. It takes a left hand bolt to make it eject out of the left side instead of the right. Charging handle still stays on the left side.

Re: Keltec RFB

I had one when they were new. SN #79 I think. It was a blast to shoot, but it was typical kel-rec quality. Welds on the bolt carrier broke and had to be replaced. After that I sold it for a profit.

Re: Keltec RFB

Man, I wanted one back in '05 when I heard about it. But like with most everything, I wait until it has been out for a bit. I'm just now seriously considering an SCAR 17. I like adopted weapons too, so I have my eye on that LMT MWS now that Britain adopted it.

Anyway, I looked around and searched and read other folk's comments, and they pretty much universally had problems. From little annoying problems, to big safety problems, to just non-funciontal weapons. Finnicky came up from some. Broken came up a lot. I'd stay away. It does look cool, but it isn't what you are wanting, I'm pretty sure of that.

I'd go with the FS2000 if I were to get a bullpup. But know it really isn't worth the cost once you break it apart and see how much plastic they used. You just can't get a break on a good bullpup.

You probably aren't missing much anyway. When I was in the army, I got to work with and talk to foreign infantry, mostly in '02, especially British, Canadian and Japanese, but some others too. The scouts I hung out with hated their L85's or whatever they were. The French didn't like the FAMAS either, and the British like the FAMAS less than their own. Israelis didn't like getting stuck with FAL's or Galil's though they have their own M4's and M16's now. They all liked our M4's and what we had done to them a lot though. They were always envious of US infantry gear, I remember them all telling us that.

Foreign snipers were somewhat different. Some of those guys have better gear than we do, just top notch. Britain gets some good gear. Like the LMT MWS their SDM's get, same one you can get here, just without the British markings on the one side.

Speaking of Israelis, they were looking foward to their Tavor bullpup at the time though. I heard that is available here. Is it up to par for you? Have you looked at it? Haven't heard much about it.

Re: Keltec RFB

Fun rifle...not the most amazingly durable, or accurate, or reliable platform on the market...but the only 7.62 bullpup that can be fired left-handed for more than one round.
