Re: KENAZ N100 gps module on NOMAD L800

I guess bullet flight. I'll ask a couple more questions and post the answers. I'll be checking it out before purchase for sure. I'm using Ballistic FTE right now but want the best I can find. I may be waisting some cash and it wouldn't be the first time but I want something that is accurate. The whole point for me is first shot hits.

Re: KENAZ N100 gps module on NOMAD L800

Hi to all. I'm from Bulgaria and I need a little help please.
Recently I've bought a Kenaz R100, and I have some problems with it, such as:
- When I turn it on a Kenaz R100 needs between 10-15 minutes to catch a few satellites !!!
- The largest number of satellites that I have seen caught are 6!!!
- when I'm moving (walking) it immediately lost satellites!!!
- when I'm even in a slightly wooded area the device can't pick up any satellites!!!
I want to ask if you also have had similar problems and if you have how did you solve them?!
Thank you in advance and I would be very grateful if you can help!

Re: KENAZ N100 gps module on NOMAD L800

Morbid.

GPS systems pick up sattelites dependant on how much visible 'sky' they have to recieve the signals. So in a wooded area the chances of you picking up signals is lowered dramatically.

Secondly, does your R100 work on GLONASS or GPS? GPS is actually the american system of sattelites, GLONASS is the American GPS network, as well as the Russian and European networks. Our $40,000 GPS units will sometimes only pick up 6 sattelites, and if your running only GPS then this will be the case.

Re: KENAZ N100 gps module on NOMAD L800

Thank you Remoah for your answer but I'm a surveyor and I'm pretty much familiar what is GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and COMPASS and how they works. I work every day with units like Trimle R8 and Trimble GeoXH and I know the differences between them and how they usually works! According to the features of the Kenaz it should works like Trimble GeoXH and even better but it doesn't and this is my problem. I've read here that this man from Italy uses Kenaz without any problems and that's why I'm asking for a help. I want to understand if I should install some kind of special software, or if I should do some special adjustments to the device to make it works properly and if I should do something like this what is it!?
Thank you in advance!

Good to meet another one on the 'Hide then. Though not to overstep my experience but i'm only an Assistant.

We just picked up the R8's about 4-5 months ago, though i havent seen the GeoXH yet.
