In the standard position, the trigger weight is 3lb. Push the trigger forward and it 6oz. Sounds like an awesome concept. Anyone use the Kepplinger single set trigger? Thoughts on it?

I have one on my 300WM Sendero. My understanding is they are not made/sold anymore.

I do like the trigger and the option to have a nice hunting trigger or a precision target trigger. The only trade off is the 6oz trigger is a bit mushy, and has a long jump back which can throw one off. This would probably not be such an issue if I had a vertical type stock on this rifle like a McMillan A3 Sporter as my other rifles do. This particular gun is the factory stock so the reach to the trigger when in set position is a bit long.

With more funds available than when I installed this trigger, I'd just go with a Jewell set at 1-1.3 lbs. I have one in my 338 Edge and it shoots every bit as good without the funny jump back tradeoff. When I update this particular rifle, I'll probably go to a Jewell.

In general, I do like the single set trigger concept. I also have one in my CZ 453 22LR. Amazing.

Spaniel,

can you open the bolt once the trigger is forward to reset it or is it like old school set triggers once "set" you have to fire?
