Looking at purchasing my first weather meter and range finder I am looking at getting the following,
Kestrel 5700 Elite Meter with Applied Ballistics
Sig Sauer KILO2400BDX

I have some question for those that own both of these,
how do you like them as a pair, do they work well together?
Would it be better to get the Kestrel with Applied Ballistics or the Sig range finder with Applied Ballistic?
Is there a better option for a range finder that I should be considering that is similarly priced?

I used that exact setup for a while (I've since upgraded to the Kilo 3000BDX binos) and it's solid. The integration works really well. I never actually used the standalone "AB Lite" that is built into the rangefinder since I always have my Kestrel with me.

I just got the Kilo2400BDX delivered today, haven't tried to connect it to my Kestrel 5700 Elite yet. The BDX app on my iPhone wants to update the firmware on the RF, but gets stuck at 5% every time I try. Does anyone know a remedy?

I got the Kilo2400BDX and Kestrel 5700 Elite linked and working, pretty slick. The only thing I wasn't expecting was that I'd have to manually capture DoF on the Kestrel for each "target", is there a quick way to do that other than scrolling down the target menu every time on the Kestrel? Seems like an electronic compass would be a nice addition to the RF capability.
