Was wondering if anyone has any experince using the KG Industries Coatings and gun care products. They have set up shop close to home and just curious if they are worth using.

KG Gunkote is all we use for everything that can be baked (guns, motorcycle parts, auto). We buy it by the gallon. As for their other products we have limited experience, but what little exposure we have to things like K-Phos and the cleaning stuff, they seem to be of the same quality as their coatings.

KG's good to go and is all I use. The blacks, greens and FDE are the best colors IMHO.

i have their carbon cleaner stuff... and used it on a suppressor piston and spring... simply put it didnt do its job.
i have the copper solvent and havent tried it yet.. also have the trigger lube... it seems ok but to me a 2 pound trigger pull doesnt get and better or smoother with or with out oil so the trigger oil is only for piece of mind i guess.
and i also have a sample of the bore polish and i dont think ill ever use it

I have started using their coating products and love them. They have great customer service and their products are a great value. I have learned a lot in the last ten guns I have done. feel free to pm me for more info.

I use the KG-1 for powder and KG-12 for copper removal. Better then anything else I tried, and that includes Butches Bore Shine, Sweets 7.62, Hoppes, Shooter's Choice, and more that I can't recall right now. None of them were anywhere as good as the KG products in my rifles.

On stocks, optics, and basically anything that cannot be baked without damage go with the KG Stock Kote (1200 I think). Its very similar to Duracoat in performance, but I think the colors are a bit more true and you can get real flats and satins. Duracoat always tends to be a bit glossy and is a messy two part resin based paint. KG 1200 is a one part. Duracoat takes days to fully cure, longer sometimes depending on the weather. KG 1200 will cure in hours and be impervious to solvents.
Not to counter BlackUmp, but its hard to go wrong with KG. Everything they make is a tested, quality product, that they stand behind, and when used as directed works as advertised.
