I was bored this Friday while getting to stay home from work due to the snow storm in NY. I was looking for a new pack and found the kifaru Maurauder. I ordered the G1 for $252 which included shipping. From what I have heard this paack will last me forever. I plan to use this as my range pack and on short one day hunting trips. Does anyone have any experience with these packs and is there a large diffence between G1 and G2. $150 seemed like alot to spend for a few changes to the pack which I wont be abusing with large loads or long trips.

Re: kifaru Marauder

I've got a g1 marauder that I use for the same purpose. It's a great pack with only two small downsides. It needs pouches/pockets added to it to make it work best. I attached a large usgi Molle pouch in the middle of the back, a usgi flashbang pouch (fits a kestrel really well), and a double m16 mag pouch for an atlas or two ar mags. These pockets give me a way to store stuff that I don't want to have to bust open the entire pack to get to-- ammo, lrf, wind meter, bag, etc..

The other problem is hydration bladders don't stay put all that well inside. The G2 has a hook of some sort to help, but honestly an external one might be the best to way go on that one. The bag tends to get full quick with enough crap to last a day of shooting in the desert.
