Kimber 8400 ?

Lookin at getting a new bottom metal piece for my 8400 kimber, it appears to be the same as a rem 700 and I'm wondering if anyone know for sure. FYI I'm looking at a surgeon bottom with detachable mag. Any suggestions with this would be much appreciated.

My best guess would ask CDI, they do bottom metal for a couple of different rifles.

Sorry but none of the DBM floorplate units for Remington's will work with Kimbers. A short 700 guard screw spacing is 6.495" and a short Kimber 8400 is 6.668". A long 700 guard screw spacing is 7.345" and a long Kimber 8400 is 7.500".

CDI makes one for Kimber that that works very well and looks good too..
