Hi, first time poster, long time lurker. So I am possably going to aquire a Kimber 84M in .260 REM. I have not shot this or any Kimber rifle. Are these good rifles? And is the .260 any good? Not sure of the glass on top of it but will find out soon.... Might be looking to get rid of it (rifle) for something else if its not what i expect

.260 is a great medium caliber. Kimber rifles are beautiful, and generally shoot pretty good if not excellent. If the price is right I'd buy it, if you don't like it PM this guy aggiesig on the hide he'll probably buy it off of you...

Friend, save your money and do not buy this rifle. Kimber has many problems with the accuracy of their rifles...been going on for a year or more. One of the biggest problems is in .260. They can't make them shoot. But don't take my word for it...call some dealers and ask about current inventory for this caliber....there is a real reason for what you will find. Buy a Remington.

A friend....

Re: Kimber 84m in .260 REM?

Kimber has become a hit or miss in rifles. From what i read they used to be kimber of oregon and made some of the finest american rifles. Company split, those from the original formed Cooper. And that was that. If your buying from a person i would give it a try. If your trying to get a new one, they stopped making them. I was in the pursuit of a .260 hunting rifle and wanted a 84m or a sako 85. Ordered a 84m in .260 only to find out 4 months later after i called kimber that they stopped chambering rifles in .260. Got my sako and never looked back. I would give it a try though, wonderful feeling rifle. Excellent grade of wood, smooth action, 3 position saftey, and light as hell. It's a good combo for a walking rifle.
