Suppressors Kimber question

Re: Kimber question

Love my Tactical Custom II, other than the finish, which I stripped off and sprayed with KG. I really like the aluminum frame.

Re: Kimber question

Kimber enthusiasts?

It's a pistol. It's a tool. It's not like a factory-made, modern firearm is ever going to be a collector's item.

Perhaps to the inexperienced, 800-1000 might seem like a lot of money for a 1911, but it's not even close--a real nice one costs thousands of dollars.

Most Kimbers are the exact same gun from the inside out. The finishes and bells and whistles make most of the difference unless it comes from the custom shop. Even then, Not that much of a difference. The ringer is the Super Carry line. They are not series II guns and have no firing pin stop.

I think if you get the one YOU like the most, you have a better chance of enjoying it more yourself.

There you go right there.Never look at something before you buy and think "what can I resell it for?". You will lose most of the time. Especially with Kimbers...

Re: Kimber question

I would try to avoid buying a gun knowing you will probably sell it later. If you are wanting a gun that you can resell later I would just go with the entry level custom 2; they are 700 new in my area. My second choice would probably be a tle; same as custom 2 but has night sights and checking.

Re: Kimber question

It amazes me some of the "hatred" for Kimber on these forums. I by no means am a pistol afficianado, but I have never heard of a Kimber failing due to what people hate about them. And that being the fact they use powdered metal for some parts.

Am I missing something?

I see the fact that billet pieces are obviously better, but more costly. But to hate on a brand because of that, even though they work fine, seems strange.

BTW, Im not saying you guys in this thread are hating on them, but I see some implying and Ive seen straight up hatred in other threads.

Re: Kimber question

Now that you mention that, it does baffle me why they use it, but weve sold tons of them (Gander Mtn) and Ive never seen one come back or hear anyone complain of having an issue with it.

That is one of the things I really liked about the Tactical series, with the extended magwell comes a metal main spring housing also.

Re: Kimber question

Jesus! I might as well be talking to my girlfriend. I dont need you to analyze my motivations or tell me what would be best for me to do. I asked a question. Give an appropriate answer or go back to watching to see if your 10000 sniper rifle that you have shot 3 times has sold yet. The reason I'm asking the question is that I have the opportunity to buy a new Kimber super cheap, put a few hundred rounds through it and then dump it on some Kimber lover for more than I paid. I needed to poll some sheeple to figure out which one would be the least pain-in-the-ass to get rid of. 45s don't interest me much but if you can get paid to own one, why not.

You like it so much that you're going to dump a few hundred dollars worth of ammo through it before you dump it?

Re: Kimber question

As I already stated, the custom 2 or tle. Kimber offers so many different models if you plan on reselling it you might have paid extra for some options your buyer could care less about. Further more if I was to start spending the money on a loaded kimber I would probably just save a few more bucks and go with a high end custom.

Holy crap. That's the first I'd seen of that. Oddly enough, I've seen extractors in Springers that weren't adjusted right either.

This is all the more disturbing to me due to the fact I realized the other day, you can buy Colt built 1911s cheaper than Kimber. Sad day.

You have a lot of nerve and not much sense to come here, ask for advice and then talk more shit than a broken toilet because we didn't give you the advice you think you need. I normally scold folks here for making inflammatory remarks but your bullshit is not needed here. These guys took their time to provide you with what they felt was an appropriate answer and you are bitching because it does not enable you to take advantage of an unknowing gun buyer. Hopefully you won't be stupid enough to try and <span style="font-style: italic"> "Dump it on some Kimber lover"</span> here on the Hide. And do not send me any PM's because I don't want to hear any more of your worthless dribble.

+1 Spending thousands of dollars on a pistol is about average for crazy people, and about the dumbest thing a sain person could do. IMHO
