I think the biggest problem is the quality of the video. Really, with all the "deepfake" stuff floating around nowadays, you'd think that some teenager with a few hours of spare time could have made something a lot nicer.

You do realize that a large part of entertainment for the civilized world consists of enjoying watching outlandish (often violent) behaviour that nobody thinks could exist in real life, but everyone enjoys watching the fantasy of?
Nothing wrong with wanting a bit of fantasy action on screen to blow off some steam and have a laugh, the better it is done often the more funny.

However we all know there are plenty out there that would support a Trump-controlled/regulated press. Asking for this as a deep fake or more realistic I think leads us down a dark road.

I think you may have overlooked the irreverent tone of my tongue-in-cheek comment.
I don't like Trump's warv against "fake news", which has come to mean "anything he doesn't like". I'm also disgusted by most of the media, which has pursued a vendetta against the man to the extent where it has lost all credibility. I expect both parties to continue on their mission of mutual discretion, and I don't believe that any sort of dignified response on my behalf is going to change a damn thing. Sad, but those are the facts as I see them.
