KMW Surgeon Tactical bolt knob discontinued?

Scroll down a little and it says the KMW one has been discontinued by the manufacturer, i'm hoping they're wrong because that was the exact knob i was looking at getting for my 700.

With the new design, probably. Glad I got the old design in time. Might increase in value

The new one looks neat, though. Is it a bad thing to have several bolt knobs? Any known obsession?

This will be my first aftermarket bolt knob. I guess i'll get the new one. I saw a pic of it on KYSS338 looks alot better than the picture up close at the surgeon site.

Here's what is available now. The KMW is not shown there. I recently replaced the Tactical knob on my 300WM with the O-Ring model. The big tactical knob took the hide off my knuckle in short order.

The Gen II KMW handle is available direct from KMW. This is a direct thread replacement for all Surgeon bolts. Part is Stainless Steel in the white.

Part#105-2U $29.00 plus UPS.

Thanks for the reply Terry, will give you a call to order one soon. This is going on a 700. Are there any pics of the gen II and how it compares to the gen I?

Gen II bolt knob.

I would say they are the same as the gen I with the addition of the cool "mag wheel" holes.

Scroll down on the page, there is a picture of some bolts with the gen I knobs for comparison.

Thats more than likely what i'm going to do, is just send my bolt to terry and have it fitted with the Gen II.

Thanks for clarifying that link RADcustom i wasn't sure those pics were the gen II or not.

I'm wondering if i can get the straight bolt handle put on along with the knob? The bolt throw on a surgeon is the same degree as a remington 700?

The bolt handle cut out for the Surgeon Handle is different than that of the Rem 700. Terry does great job of installing his bolt knob on the OEM Rem handle. I've had several installed for clients and have one on my 6XC from several years ago. If you wanted a straight handle get one from PTG but, the handle is way too long for one of Terry's knobs and it might look a little funny. I'd run the OEM handle, you'll like it.

Sounds good ill let him do just that then. Haha yeah the PTG handle would look awkward.

I have the same one on my .260 William built. Terry put it on at his shop, on my stock 700 handle. On KMW's website, he shows you the process of installation.
