Looking to purchase a sr25 and on the website it states the combat carbine or cc is 8.4 lbs and the pc or precision carbine is 9lbs. The combat carbine has 16” hammer forged chrome lined barrel and the precision carbine has 16” 5 r cut rifled barrel. So is the combat carbine a steel barrel Crome moly and the precision carbine stainless steel? Doesn’t really say.
Are they both in house barrels or does kreiger make the precision barrels?

CC is chrome lined and PC is not. PC is meant as a precision rifle that can be used up close in a pinch. CC is more of a big m4 that can be used for precision in a pinch. CC has a lightweight tapered barrel, while the PC has a thicker, medium tapered barrel that is not chrome lined other than the first 20 or so.

It's also worth noting that the accuracy of the CC is often quite good. Mine shipped with a 0.72" 100y test target using FGMM 175's.

Where the real weight trade-off shows up is when the barrel heats up over longer strings of fire.

That said, at this point: get the one you can find. There isn't a bad choice, but there is a lack of availability.
