I am about to go live making blades. I was told by Panty 6 that if I want to make knives, I better make them good enough to sell. In order to prove this out, I am starting with:
kitchen/utility tanto: 3.5" blade, 4.5" round or oval maple handle in kydex
EDC Tanto: 3.5" blade, 4.5" black walnut handle in kydex
Tanto Skinner: 4" blade w/ 2" false edge, oval brass tsuba, kydex

My brand Identity is the Japanese kanji symbol for fire, '^'

I will start posting as soon as the first few are completed on design to show the designs

This is the formulative design for these three blades.
EDC 3.5" , 1" blade, Tanto, clay heat treated, black linen micarta handle, double copper pins, kydex sheath
Skinner 4" , 1" blade, Tanto, clay heat treated, brass tsuba, black walnut or maple handle, double copper pins, kydex sheath
Kitchen/Paring/Utility 3.5", 3/4" blade, Kaiken style, with round maple handle. Will come with kydex sleeve, sheath on request as this primary use is a paring knife, but it does lots more, and actually carries really nice(mock up was good)

My intent is to make four of each. The big issue comes during heat treat when blades just decide to say FU and warp or bend, so we shall see how many actually make it to finished state. Hand made, and hand finished. Price Range will be $100(Kitchen Utility) to $180(Skinner), but I'll set actual prices at the time they are finished. Thank you for your interest in these.
I am only three blades into this stuff, so as I grow, I am learning with probably the best mentorship ever by @kimbreed1911 (Instagram), Blade Magazine writer
. A small shot from Blade Magazine October 2018, Veterans Issue: Yours Truly doing the stabbing and display ;)

I have materials, and am awaiting VA appointments to square away my funds...in other words, a bit of a stall. Once I get my band saw, buffer, and heat treat oven I can move forward with these pretty fast. I've decided to do the 3.5" Tanto and the smaller, thinner utility knife becuase these have the interest from all of my sources who are kicking my butt waiting for me to get started full time. At 30 to 40 hours per blade, hand work is slow, very arduous, and takes lots of time to get it just right.
