Konohawk minichassis now available

Interesting. It looks like it isnt integral like the manners is. I guess it has threaded inserts (nutsert?) bedded into the stock that the chassis screws into? And then the action screws to the chassis portion. Seems like a possible weakness not present in manners molded in version. I also noticed that its more than I paid for my similarly equipped manners mini... $1120
It supports tikka though so thats a big advantage over the manners mini right there. The bolts that hold the chassis into the stock are inserted into thread inserts which are installed in the stock. Their purpose is to secure the chassis latitudinally (in addition to press fit) while the recoil forces that act on the system, are vectored longitudinally. There is nothing preventing the user from bonding it in themselves if they have to have it bonded as it indexes correctly everytime it is inserted into a stock. In addition to swapping to a lighter or heavier weight stock or different stock design, being able to remove the chassis also allows users to have it the chassis/triggerguard painted (provided they want a color other than black).

beenjammin, do you curently have their non chassis stock?

If so care to share your impression of if?

I like it a lot and it's currently at custom gun coatings getting a multicam paint job. What sold me on it was the structure of it. No possibility of voids in the stock and it came with loggerhead and flush cups. They are close to me so I was able to drive over and meet them. Very nice people and state of the art facility. It's a tough market to be the new kid in the block on but I know Mark and Accurate Ordnance does a lot with these guys. The head guy over these is a materials engineer. They have frozen these stocks, baked them, run them over. If there is an issue with the stocks they will make it right. I will say it's a thinner profile so really heavy straight taper barrels look kinda weird on them. Mine is a RWS Schneider build .223 with a varmit contour and it looks great. I'll post pics as soon as Brandon gets done with it.

Just curious, how long has branden had your stock, how long have you been waiting? I'm thinking about sending him a manners to paint but I don't wanna wait a year for paint...

It depends on what you needs. If you want a whole rifle done it will be longer. I have sent him the plastic parts off my AX and he had it done in a week. Its worth it though. He does a great job. Mine has been there a little longer this time because he had it bedded by a local guy before he painted it.

I'm not sure what happened to those guys. I thought they were connected to another company I do business with but they advised that they do not know about Konohawk.

A similar company and product that seems to be doing very well out of Alabama is A.G. Composites. Direct link to their website if interested: https://agcomposites.com/index

hey Guys. yea. RWBradshaw is a member here he can tell you more. I was trying hard to advocate for them.

These guys were experimenting with different materials in 3d printing stocks. Polymer hybrids, but the R&D and raw materials were causing the unit cost to be too costly compared to some of bigger companies already established.

I had a build in one that Brandon finished in multicam and it was very sweet. White mambas now
