KRG Bravo question

Looking for some help with a KRG Bravo stock with a Howa 1500 SA. I ordered one online and finally got the call that it had shipped and was ready for me to pick up from my local FFL.

Upon inspection, I noticed that the barrel was not centered above the barrel trough in the stock. Now, I'm not just being anal and talking a little off, I'm talking way off to one side. Before I reject the gun, because I really do want it (but I'm not keeping something that's defective) I wanted to ask a quick question to you all.

For folks who have experience with it, does the KRG Bravo have a little slop in the chassis holes for the action screws? I'm trying to figure out if this might be an adjustment issue vs a mfg defect. If it's a matter of simply loosening the action, truing it to the stock, and torqueing it back down, I'm fine with that. I wanted to see if any of you who have the stock have seen this, and were able to correct it, or if I need to run away from this one. I'm also going to see if my FFL will let me try a couple things on it to see if I can adjust things in their store so I don't have to take possession till I'm confident it's OK.

Thanks!

Did you seat it square in the separate lug? I know the instructions did seem to lacking in regards to what actually happens with it. Its different than their rem700 configuration though its made to looks similar.

Pictures?

If you can, loosen the action screws and see if it can be moved into place. I put mine together once and the barrel was not in parallel with the stock and didn't notice for a day or two. No shooting, just fingering it in the house.

The Bravo is GTG for sure though.

I’m attaching a couple of pics I took at the store. Thanks for the info. Sounds like there is some play and I may be able to get it centered up.

Mine was out of parallel in relation to the top of the bravo and bottom of the barrel. One of the action pillars was on top, not in, the pocket on the bravo. But still try and loosen the action and see if it falls in place.

No big deal.

Just loosen up the action screws a little, get the barrel centered better, torque it down.

Whomever put it together just probably didn't care to give it as much attention as you (being its new owner and all)...

Congrats on finding one of those!
Hear me now believe me later, go order the 1.5lb "Benchrest" spring kit from Gunbloke off eBay, takes a while snail mail from Australia.

I’m going to run into Gander (my FFL - they transfer for free!) and see if I can loosen the screws and get things close to straight. It’s not easy finding these, but if it appears to be a problem child, I already have the barreled action, KRG Bravo stock, and mag flor plate in my cart at Brownells. I’ll wind up with a 1500 in a Bravo one way or another.

I bought one of these heavy barreled 1500s in the bravo stock recently, swapped the HB action to another chassis, but put one of my existing vanguards with sporter barrel into the bravo, the captured nut in fore end kept slipping around, was slightly of center the first time. loosened it, stood it on recoil pad, gave it solid tap downward, and lug & everything fell into place, tightened it up while still vertical and it was all good.

Thanks for the info - making me feel more confident that the gun is fine and just needs to be assembled correctly.

Thanks for the call out on the hex key size! I’ll bring a long one with me.

Thanks a million for all the advice everyone. I went back and played with it a little more. Like you all suggested - loosening the screws allowed me to straighten it out, no prob. It’s now headed home with me.
Thanks again for the help! Now I just need to pick an optic and wait for the temp outside to get back up to something reasonable up here in frozen MN and it’s off to the range to break it in.
