Right now I have my barreled action sitting naked ready for a quick coat of Krylon. I took the scope (And rings) off the rifle.

    So I have two questions-

When I installed the Badger Ordnance rail, I used a thin coat of loctite under the base (As instructed) to prevent rust. Would it be worth while to clean up under the rail, and re-mount it after the base coat on the receiver without loctite? Krylon won't rust, afterall.

And number two- Should I mount the scoperings to the rail before painting? (The scope is still installed and level in the rings.) I can not forsee any problems with having paint on the rail when the rings "grab" on.

Originally I was just going to blast it and be done. But after noticing some surface rust I disassembled the rifle to clean -all- of it out.
