Picked up a 700 action and dropped it a leftover hogue stock off my VTR. No wonder the VTR never shot well, the stock is warped and must have always been pushing randomly on the barrel, especially since the fore grip is so easy to move with just light hand pressure. With this thinner profile barrel on this action you can see how off it is when 'at rest'. At least it's floating now.

Yeah basically the same on my SPS Varmint, could have floated with some sanding and bedding but it would have taken ALOT of fiddling as well as filler, and weakened the stock a lot more as well as having to pillar bed the action, which you would have to drill out the stock pillars and chance screwing that up as well. B@C or even a Choco would be better than all that.
