I usually wait 2 minutes between each shot. Depends alot on how heavy your barrel is and if it heats up quickly.
If you shoot too quickly, a rise in your bullet could be just because your barrel is heating up. But you probably already knew that.

wouldn't it sort of depend on how you intend to use it?
If you were wanting to use it for a rapid fire exercise I'd think you's want it to provide data in the condition you plan to use it.
If allowed to cool then used hot the results provide information that doesn't fit the purpose.
But that's just me thinking

The main issue, though, is that your first shots are fired cold, and your later shots are fired hot, causing noise in your results.
If you are trying to simulate hot fire with a ladder test, maybe it is best to fire a bunch of "barrel warmers" and then conduct the ladder test.
