Hey I'm looking for some good opinions about Whether LC brass buy is a good one, wideners got LC 308 NATO once fired late or recent production 2000pcs/$250.00

Yes, it's a great value if you're willing to decap, de-crimp, resize, and do whatever else you deem prudent (trim to length, deburr the flash holes, etc.). Widener's deals are pretty good prices as well - I'd buy some if I didn't already have over a thousand 5.56 and 7.62 Lake City prepped and ready to load...

LC is awesome brass. LC LR is better because it isn't crimped but once you take out the crimps on the ones you're looking at you'll have great brass for a long time. LC has a thicker web so make sure you down-load it by a full grain compared to thinner webbed brass like Win/fed/etc.

Most who have used once fired LC brass have reported shorter case life and head separations with the 7.62 brass fired in machine guns. Apparently they have rather generous headspace and this causes more stretching of the brass on the first firing and subsequent shorter case life. If you can find LC LR brass, this is used in the sniper weapons systems and therefore almost certainly not fired in machine guns.

That has not been my experience or anyone I've shot with who uses it. We're all getting about 8-15 reloads (with annealing).

The last batch of once-fired machinegun brass I had came in with the web already stretched too far.
I got 2 firings with my bolt rifle. Case head seperations on the first firing thru my M1A.
I'd say it's a crap-shoot on what you get. Some of the armorers' headspace their machineguns correctly, some don't.

With standard LC brass, my experience has been that small base sizing dies make it apparent which cases have been stretched or expanded. The hard to resize cases get tossed into the recycle box.
After working my tail off with swaging and prepping primer pockets on a thousand regular LC cases, I went with LC/LR for the next 1K purchase. The LR cases I got were also more uniform and had a bit thinner wall.
As with any once-fired brass, I agree that it's a crap shoot as to the quality.

Machine gun LC and LC-LR are exactly the same the only difference is the swagged primer on the Machine gun version.
