Laminate Stocks?

Re: Laminate Stocks?

Maybe it's me, but laminate wood looks plain "good" on a bolt rifle. If you don't mind the extra weight (not a factor on a bench-prone P dog rifle) then go look at the selection over at Boyds, or Accurate Innovations where you can get a bedding block AND laminate wood in the same stock. My 50 cents.

I put a custom Win 70 in a Boyd's laminate t-hole and have really enjoyed it.

Thank you, sir. Mark Gordon at Short Action Customs did a fantastic job of bedding and finishing the stock for me. I like the Boyd's stock... I know it's not on par with an AI or McRee's, but it has served me well. I got some new load suggestions for that rifle and hope to do it justice, now that my R700 .308 is set.

YA, I'm a fan of his stocks. I just like the solid feel of the laminate stocks. It's a little heaver, but to me its worth it.

Re: Laminate Stocks?

I've mentioned him here before and didn't get a lot of love but Rick Hinds bipod stock would be a smoker for a pdog/predator rig. I'm not Rick's salesman, but in the process of letting customers know what's available I've found that most who handle it are very impressed. His stocks are laminate with full length bedding block and, of course, the bipod. I think he'd be very willing to send one to check out before you make the committment to buy.
