I know that the more complete the lug contact the better potential the accuracy. Would lapping the lugs also have a noticable effect on bolt lift? JimDee

It can if you mess up the headspace on the rifle and cases start flowing.
Lapping lugs sounds easy but it can cause big problems if not done right. If you have no gunsmithing experience then this is not a job for you.
