Guys,

I need a new batch of brass in 308 win. I have heard a snipet here and there about Lapua's small rifle brass. I'd like to hear what you guys have found out by using it. I'm looking to get 500 pieces or 1000 out of the same lot. I'm running a bolt gun with 178 Amax's out of a 18" barrel. Thanks, JPG

Re: Lapua 308 win. Large or Small primer?

I shoot 175 smk's out to 1000 yds. and love Lapua's consistency. I neck size only and bump back the shoulder a couple thousandth's usually after about 5 firings. I just started breaking in (fire-forming) a new batch today. This brass last forever if you don't over work it.

I say stick with large

Much discussion with those who have tested will lead you to inconclusive evidence to say once is better than the other.

At least if you go with large, you can also use the same primers for other brands on .308win brass... such as good quality range pickups
