Lapua brass.

Does Lapua brass have the same capacity as lake city brass or is it more. Wondering if I need to adjust my load for the lapua brass.

LC brass has thicker case walls than Lapua, which makes a case like a .308 have about 1gr less capacity than Lapua. That 1 gr difference can make about 25 fps difference in a .308 case, depending on the powder one is using.

Recently bought some .308 Lapua Palma brass, which measured at 173 grs in weight and 56.0 grs of capacity. My previous batch of Lapua brass (large rifle primer) I bought 3 years measured at 174.5 grs in weight with 55.9 grs of capacity. Also three years ago I had some LC brass weighing in at 179 grs with 54.8 grs of capacity.

No doubt, there are variances . . . especially if similar cases are constructed to military specs. 😵 :giggle:
