Lapua cases with 155 Scenars

Re: Lapua cases with 155 Scenars

I had em going around 2920 'ish and would only get about 5 loads before p pockets got big.

probably could've seated primers with my finger so tossed em instead

Re: Lapua cases with 155 Scenars

Depends on how you treat your brass as well.

If chamber pressures are within normal spec, you have set up your sizing dies to bump back the shoulders the minimum required, you clean your brass ultrasonic or tumbled, and you frequently anneal the necks... then you should see very good brass life.

I see above 8 reloads if im not flatteing primers and getting ejector marks. Thats running 46.5 varget ,or 46.3 Imr XBR 8802 <way over recommended charge,but not seeing pressures in my AW,!>

Your AW can probably handle 47.8-48gr Varget. Now that would be slightly above "recommended charge".

I have at least 20 reloads all ready on some of them. I load them hot too. Currenly, I use 48 grains of Varget for it. New case, it's a crunch. Old cases, with neck size only, it's still a crunch but not as much.

Re: Lapua cases with 155 Scenars

Out of the 28 cycles, I have body sized them 5 or 6 times and they have not been annealed; I am using a 334 bushing. Have not lost a neck (due to cracking) and have not lost a case due to primer pockets loostening up.

{The lack of annealing is an ongoing experiment, I actually recommend it every 5-8 cycles.}
