Rifle Scopes Larue mount question

I just bought a new rifle and will need to be mounting a scope. I plan on buying an EGW base, so that leaves rings.
I was going through my stuff and found a Larue QD LT-104 mount I had bought for my AR15.
I haven't measured or even looked clodely at it- but would that put the scope too high on a Savage 10? I'm really not trying to be cheap, but this is a quality mount and I am not using it.

I use LaRue mounts and suggest you just give it a try and mount it. You have nothing to lose and if it works you have a quality mount and saved some dough.

I agree that the Larue mounts (particularly the LT-104) are excellent. I have used several different Larue mounts (and other products) and they are first rate (along with incredible customer service). However, I wouldn't use one on a bolt action rifle with a picatinny base because you are going to put your scope entirely too high over the centerline of the bore and you'll likely have cheek weld problems to match that height.

If you aren't using your Larue mount, there are plenty of people who would pay you good money for it and that would allow you to turn around and buy a quality set of rings to go with your scope/mount combo to get your rifle where it needs to be.

sell it and read the post on ring height info it will answer all your questions on mounting heights.

That mount might put your scope a bit high and forward on your savage. It is an excellent mount, but built especially for the AR platform. However, a guy on here took one, turned it backwards and mounted it on his Sage M1a platform, and it looked great.

I had to ask since I have it on hand.
I might sell or trade it, but I might keep it. Who knows, I might want to scope my Les Baer AR15 sometime and the Larue would be the way to go.
