1.5" is very high for mounting on a bolt gun. This mount is designed for AR-style actions with continuous rail systems.

They offer a special package for Remington 700s.

Re: Larue OSR mount

Yeah, all of LaRue's mounts are too high for bolts, with the exception of their new QD low rings.

Re: Larue OSR mount

Yeah, they're a little tall on most bolt guns (.1 higher than Badger ultra-highs), but not all. I have a 56MM OBJ on a straight taper barrel on one of mine and it's great (STOMP, not the OSR mount).

Re: Larue OSR mount

What is return to zero like with these setups from a precision standpoint. I'm sure they are fine for AR's but for those who run them on bolt guns is it 100% accurate?

Cheers.

Re: Larue OSR mount

Mark Larue posted results from an experiment to determine RTZ with an ACOG on top of a Surgeon. The data showed consistent repeatability, and any variance was more or less predictable.

Re: Larue OSR mount

Every Larue mount I have ever used has returned to zero to within .25 MOA.

There are a number of tests that have been independently conducted on their mounts posted on the net if you're interested. They could give you a lot of in-depth info and results.
