Hey guys, i've been lurking around for several months but just now registered. Now all that aside, i have the two model 700's in my signature. i just got the sps tactical today and i was looking at the larue mounts found here http://stores.homestead.com/Laruetactical/Detail.bok?no=351
are these good? i was going to change over both rifles to this mount mainly because of the quick detach capabilities. (i like to mix things up haha) also i see they come with 30mm rings does anyone know if they come with 1" rings? sorry if this has been asked before i searched around for a good 20 min.. thanks everyone and merry christmas!

Re: larue tactical mount and rings..

does the 1" come with the kit? i most likely wouldn't move them much but i wouldn't mind having the option to do it quickly if i wanted to and had the same mounts on all my stuff and i do have some other rifles and might would swap them around for hunting or target shooting etc. do you think this mount would be high enough for my 50" zeiss? it looks like quality stuff and i have several larue items for my ar15 that i really like...thanks for the quick reply guys i appreciate it!

Re: larue tactical mount and rings..

do you think the mount will be plenty high for a 50mm objective? if so sounds like i need to place an order haha how do the adapters work? does it make the rings any weaker?

First I would call them up and confirm their height. On a 50mm you may have a problem if you also have a long scope and a 20MOA base.

Second unless you are going to have the exact same everything I would not get those rings. I can get two pair of Seekins for that price and they will not need the adaptor and they will work on height (call Liberty optics when Scott gets back). Dont get me wrong I have and use LaRue, I just dont see that this adds anything for you in this application.

Re: larue tactical mount and rings..

I was looking at this option also. I have MK IV base and rings right now and was thinking about this route on my 700 with my SN-3. Though I have absolutely no issues with my MK IV's, I am thinking about an upgrade, and putting my MK IV's on my 270.

I also like Glen's rings and bases, but I will spend as much once I buy the 55 in/lb Seekonk. I may just leave the base on my rifle and buy a set of Badgers since I already have the 65 in/lb Seekonk. Oh for the love of choices.

Re: larue tactical mount and rings..

i'm open to any suggestions... i'm not too well educated on whats the "best" and what to stay away from....i do know that i want to do it once and do it right and get quality stuff i just happened to see that kit b/c i get on their site often and thought it looked like a nice mount system and if i had the same setup on both my rifles i could swap optics faster if i ever needed/wanted to...
